Enforce strict measures to check illicit and spurious liquor trade in Punjab: ISWAI

Chandigarh : With the onset of the festive season, the International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI), an apex body of the premium AlcoBev sector, urged the Punjab government for strict checks and enforcement to counter the illicit and spurious liquor trade. The Association strongly recommended for a balanced, pragmatic and transparent approach to the AlcoBev business in the State as the way forward to promote responsible consumption and build the economic opportunity for the State. Many needy Afghan students get financial help from UNITED SIKHS.

Jalandhar :  Young and dynamic Punjab Congress leader Damanvir Phillaur has asked local Congress MP from Jalandhar, Santokh Singh Chaudhary to ask for a CBI probe into a 'viral audio', which shows how corruption is being promoted and patronized in Jalandhar and particularly Phillaur's Panchayati Raj Institutions.
