Chandigarh : In a major development in Punjab politics just before the Assembly elections, a grouping of the Hindu community has been announced in the presence of PPCC President Navjot Singh Sidhu. The organisation of Hindus has been named as Sanyukta Hindu  Mahasabha – Punjab . Its chairman is Ashwani Sekhri,  a senior Punjab Congress leader, who has been a Cabinet minister of Punjab and also 3-times MLA from Batala. A meeting under the aegis of Sanyukta Hindu Mahasabha - Punjab with prominent leaders of different Hindu organisations was held  as part of a 'Diwali Milan' programme at Punjab Bhawan here. Jalandhar :  Young and dynamic Punjab Congress leader Damanvir Phillaur has asked local Congress MP from Jalandhar, Santokh Singh Chaudhary to ask for a CBI probe into a 'viral audio', which shows how corruption is being promoted and patronized in Jalandhar and particularly Phillaur's Panchayati Raj Institutions.
