‘Lahore’ the last non-film project of Deep Sidhu co-featuring Dilraj Grewal released

ChandigarhDeep Sidhu had already made way into the hearts of everyone with his pleasing personality and impeccable acting skills, but with this song he surely will gain huge respect from his fans and the masses. The news of the demise of the Deep Sidhu has come as a bolt from the blue to the whole industry.

As a tribute to the deceased actor, Saga Music unveiled ‘Lahore,’ an 8-minute video track encapsulating a poignant story of two friends set in the backdrop of the painful Indo-Pak partition. Though Lahore is the swansong of Deep Sidhu, his outlandish presence and performance will win laurels in the world of music. We all bid bon voyage to the artist Deep Sidhu, the voice behind the largest revolution of the century, a bloomed soul that had gripped and envisioned hundreds and thousands of people.

Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others. Even with a single eye, Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh could envision the masses, and laid the foundation of Khalsa Raj. A Raj where all the communities would be treated equally, a Raj where there would not be any capital punishment, a Raj where men and women coherently move towards the prosperity of the nation, in short, a secular nation. Unfortunately, the whole foundation collapsed after his death and the British invaded our country. Now the question arises, What would happen if the partition had not taken place? What would be the power of that nation, the arms of which were torn apart by the partition?

Saga Music’s colossal catalogue and contribution to the Punjabi Movie and Music Industry speaks volumes for its commitment and devoutness. Saga Music and Sumeet Singh is well known for bringing out the veiled talents and marvelous tracks at the spur of the moment. This time, Saga Music is ready to bring down the house with its upcoming heart-touching single ‘Lahore’. Lahore is not a song but a saga filled with brotherhood, friendship, love and peace. The song is based on two friends who got separated during the hideous event of Partition and its aftermath. Millions of muslims trekked to west and east Pakistan (the latter now known as Bangladesh) while millions of Hindus and Sikhs headed in the opposite direction. Many hundreds of thousands never made it, leaving the nation at sixes and sevens. Incontestably, the riots created bad blood between the two communities.

Today, music videos are taking the shape of short films, delivering enthralling stories on equally absorbing songs is nothing short of a spectacular viewing experience. ‘Lahore’ will not fall short of piercing the emotions in the hearts of every Indian. This track will unquestionably leave you flabbergasted and captivated throughout the course of motions. The song has been sung and penned by Dilraj Grewal.

Dilraj Grewal, singer and artist, said," ‘Lahore’ is not just a song but a touching tale of love, friendship and peace. It depicts the emotions of personal loss of an individual. Things could have been better if this division hadn’t happened. The relationship would have been better. ‘Lahore’ is a voice which will jolt your heart.”

This masterpiece, released under the banner of Saga Music, has been produced and envisioned by its owner  Sumeet Singh. When asked about this track, he said, “The partition hurts the heart of each and every one of us. We have our own set of diverse emotions which gush through our hearts and minds when we think of the partition. However, with this song, I only want to communicate that love and friendship knows no boundaries, and in the end humanity is the only religion we all must follow.” With a heavy voice, he further added, “It is delightful to see such young talents like Deep Sidhu and Dilraj Grewal, pouring their untainted thoughts in black and white, standing beside the truth, well-wishers of their community and nation.” BW
