Pooja Brahmbhatt crowned Miss Body Beautiful & Miss Photogenic

 


Mohali (Punjab): Pooja Brahmbhatt, an emerging actor and model - a pass out from MCM College Chandigarh has made the City proud by winning two titles at the Diadem Miss & Mrs India Legacy 2020 beauty contest held recently at Kingdom of Dreams in Delhi NCR. Pooja grabbed two prestigious titles at the contest – Miss India Body Beautiful and Miss India Most Photogenic. Pooja, former state level Badminton player as well as Baseball and Softball player at national level, is a great example of courage and perseverance, who despite facing a worst phase of hospitalization following an accident and later Covid lockdown in a faraway location, emerged a winner and is ready to fly high. There were a total of 18 contestants in the finale, for which grooming sessions were held at Radisson Dwarka. The event was organized by Amisha Chaudhary. 

After winning the titles, Pooja said, “I have always been into extra curricular activities as I like to express myself through painting, writing, interior decoration and tattoo making. I always wanted to be an actor as being on stage makes me feel alive. While at MCM College, I started doing theatre and at the age of 19 got a role in a film ‘Mitti Na Phrol Jogiya’. Then I did songs, ads and short films. Meanwhile, I met with an accident, which put a brake on everything for 2.5 years.”

After recovery, she moved to Mumbai to fulfill her dreams. Due to medication she gained 20 kg weight. There she assisted in films, serials, songs and ad films, before focusing again on acting after losing 15 kg of weight till her 24th birthday. She got a role as second lead in a Hindi movie ‘Nusrat Jahan, acted in a Telugu song, then Covid lockdown happened and she got trapped in Mumbai, all alone. But, she did not lose patience and positivity. She came out of this whole roller coaster ride bravely. Pooja says, “I am looking forward for a bright future, working hard to achieve my goals; want to earn name, fame, respect and money all in a sequence. I wish to start an NGO for elderly people and orphans, and to help in adult education. We are family of five. My parents are my biggest strength, who have always supported and motivated us.” BlogsWire

Performed poetry marks the formal launch of poetry book ‘Uns’

Chandigarh:  Nisha Luthra, a Chandigarh based theatre director and founder of The Narrators, a performing arts society, has penned her maiden book of poetry - 'Uns.' 'Uns' was formally and very uniquely unveiled through a 'performed poetry' presentation at the world famous Rock Garden. A music and dance recital was showcased as part of the performed poetry presentation by city based contemporary dance artiste Puneet Jewandah and Bharatnatyam virtuoso Varun Khanna to the accompaniment of  live tabla and violin. The performance was based on the poetry in ‘Uns’ and was conceived and directed by the writer Nisha Luthra herself. "My book is a showcase depicting multifaceted aspects of human sentiments. The performed poetry was an apt tribute to the theme of 'Uns'.
